Micropigmentation

Direct MPG is the process of getting ink marks on your scalp that look like tiny hairs; a technique known as Cosmetic Hair Follicle Replication. It is not a tattoo, nor a form of cosmetic makeup, although both of those were the launching point for this new invention.

Scalp Pigmentation can be used between your hair for a thickening effect or on a bald area to create a shaven look.

Scalp Micro-pigmentation is a procedure in which little dots are ingrained on the scalp, creating the illusion that the scalp is densely populated with hair follicles. When the technique is applied to a scalp, whose hair has been shaved by a razor, it gives the appearance of growing stubble. The paint (pigment) used is matched to the colour of the hair; as a process it is similar to that of having a tattoo.

Not too long ago, our London clinic only offered the semi-permanent technique; now, it allows all clients to have the choice of the semi-permanent or permanent method. The Semi-permanent method lasts up to two years giving the patient an option to repeat or reconsider. As all hair colours change over time, the tincture used in the next session may not be the same. The disadvantage is that clients, who enjoy the result and find it suiting to their appearance, might not wish to repeat it time and time again; in this case they should resort to the permanent treatment. A benefit of the semi-permanent method, is that as the hair grows it picks up some of the colour appearing darker. The colour used in either method is non-toxic and will not cause any infections or allergies.
